helen - November 9, 2009, 10:28 pm

syempre iba pa rin ang pinakbet ng purong ilocano. kc sa ilocano talaga nag-originate ang ulam na ito. pinagmamalaki ko ang lutong pinakbet ng ilocano kc ilocano ak met.

mitch - October 24, 2009, 8:00 pm

i like pinakbet as weel ilokana ak met pero iba iba tlaga pagluluto nyan as long as you like it kahit anong klaseng luto pa yan masarap pa rin enjoy...

Nicole - September 23, 2009, 10:32 pm

This is not the proper or right way to cook pinakbet!even the ingredients are not right!!!I wonder where did she got the idea to cook pinakbet?!
Roland's recipe is more accurate, than this lady's way of cooking it.....pinakbet has no chilli in it!

Justmie elmie - August 24, 2009, 2:29 pm

oommm chincha masseoyo.........

Just_m&amp;amp;amp;#33;e@elm&amp;amp;amp;#33;e - August 24, 2009, 2:25 pm

h!,it's m!e here in korea, that is one of my favorite dish in phil.eventhough I am not Ilocano but I know how cook that one and I really like the taste.......

ROLAND - June 5, 2009, 11:51 pm

boil enough water with the sliced pork with fats then add sliced ripe tomatoes, bagoong fish sauce then put on top mixed ingridients (camote, sitaw okra talong ampalaya sigarilyas)then season w/ msg then again on top put sliced red onions or the lazonas type then cover put to simmer in a medium heat... and wallah! you have the all original ilokano pinakbet in ur meal..enjoy!

jojo - June 3, 2009, 10:39 am

chef is right.it depends on what place or province u are in the philippines.maysa ak nga puro nga ilokano and we do it differently in my province.i visited other ilokano regions and they were doing their own version too.u can use fish bagoong or shrimp bagoong or you can use both!!basta naimas pinakbet daytan kakabsat...

chef comments - May 5, 2009, 2:53 am

there are hundred ways or version to cook one recipe just like adobo and we are from different provinces its like religion too people say they are the right one,me kanya kanya tayong creativity..so kung di kayo gumagamit ng bagoong try nyo,for a change...u can always change the recipe..im a chef so i know ...stop saying ilokano di naglalagay na ganito etccc...di lang kayo ilokano dito sa mundo ..be tahnkful sa mga nagshashare ng recipe

SAM - April 24, 2009, 2:28 pm

ang pinakbet ay napakasarap na pinoy pangulam at marami din ways to cook it minsan nagbabago ang style dahil sa budget at pang tikim ng kumakain pero lahat ito ay panalo sa sarili nating panglasa.... excellent show

me...vi - April 19, 2009, 6:27 pm

and well, mostly ilocano hndi ginigisa ang pinakbet, only the pork!! pwede rin nmng pritong isda..

ikang - April 19, 2009, 6:17 pm

jojit to joy at ung taga canada kuno - March 21, 2009, 5:09 pm

mas mahal kaya masarap nga ang alamang kesa bagoong isda! ilokano nga eh, depende sa budget mo yan ang purpose lang naman ng bagoong o alamang e pangpalasa di ba?

jojit - March 21, 2009, 5:04 pm

mas masarap ang pinakbet kung may kalabasa! baka wala kayong pambiling kalabasa kasi nagtitipid kayo...hehehe

T-Bone - March 18, 2009, 5:37 pm

Excellent presentation

carmi - March 17, 2009, 9:04 am

Cerila - March 10, 2009, 2:13 pm

eder- sf - March 6, 2009, 11:37 am

it makes me hungry already... can u cook tagalog kare-kare next time..tnx

joy - March 5, 2009, 2:25 am

i don't think this is pinakbet at all. my grandma, an ilocana taught me how to cook pinakbet. you don't saute the vegetables in cooking pinakbet, and you don't use pumpkin or squash in pinakbet. and another thing, pinakbet is cooked in fish bagoong not alamang....

tess vancouver b.c. canada - February 15, 2009, 1:41 pm

I think this receipe more called bulanglang coz n penakbet they dont add pmpkin right.?I know its taste good this receipe but Im sure this is not penakbet.

I just say your show on Sydney's TVS today for the 1st time. Congrats! It's wonderful and I was quick to visit the site, especially after seeing the video for Bamboo. Excellent band!

I am anxious to try the recipes, but if I can make a suggestion... it would be great to have the ingredients written with the article. The videos are excellent, but the ingredients are something you can print or write down. Yeah?

Ok. thanks.

rodora - January 14, 2009, 4:50 am

Bigboy - October 30, 2008, 7:48 am

marie - October 2, 2008, 9:04 am

This is not how ilocanos cook their pinakbet. This recipe is more of a Tagalog improvised recipe.
Ilocanos usually use the pork with a little fat in it, cook it in its own juice until it is almost roasted. Then add all other ingredients. Tomatoes, garlic, onions, eggplant, bittermelon, string beans, chili, okra. They don't use pumpkin and sauted shrimps instead they use anchovy sauce.

DennisGarcia - September 28, 2008, 10:59 pm

Thnaks for sharing the way to cook pinakbet, ever since i do a different way, but the way you cook, i think is a lot better.

Thanks,

Dennis
