VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED
Volunteers make valuable contributions to community television and are an integral part of Pinoy TV. We rely on talented, deidicated people from a variety of backgrounds to help out in arange of areas. In return Pinoy TV, offers volunteers the opportunity to gain practical hands-on experience and hone their skills in a television broadcasting environment.
GAIN EXPERIENCE IN THE TV INDUSTRY
Interested in television? Pinoy TV is a great place to start. Like any endeavour, you will only get out out of volunteering what you put in. The more you put in, the more experience and knowledge you can gain. Pinoy TV is working towrads becoming a platform for volunteers to gain experince within the television industry. This means that your passion and dedication as a volunteer at Pinoy TV could be s stepping stone towards a future career. It won't happen overnight, but with effort and perserverance you can gain the skills necessary to suceed in the media industry.
Currently, Pinoy TV is seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals for its Melbourne-based operations as well as other states around Australia. The positions available for volunteers are as follows:
MOTION GRAPHICS ARTISTS
We are looking for talented After Effects Artists, in broadcast design and motion graphic projects for immediate start. Must be self-motivated and a team player. Must be proficient in After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.If you have formal art training or an exceptional eye for design, even better. Maya and Cinema 4D, 3DStudio Max and Lightwave experience a plus but not required.
HOSTS/PRESENTERS
We are looking for individuals from any age group with vibrant personalities to host/present segments. Must be self-motivated and a team player. Must have functional level of Tagalog/Filipino language, good writing and oral skills. No previous experience of on-camera work required.
PRODUCTION ASSISTANTS
Role: This is a multi-functional role incorporating lighting design, audio mixing, camera operating and general duties preparing for and assisting during production shoots as well as post-production work. Post production duties include capturing files to pc, logging episodes of the programs, outputting completed episodes to tape/dvd and archiving previous episodes.
Hours of work: Generally episodes/segments are filmed after hours during the weeks or weekends once or twice a month but may be expected to go on location to cover events/interviews from time to time. Most of the post-production is done at Pinoy TV facilities and volunteers will be expected to come in on Monday evenings (7.30pm-11.30pm) or Sunday afternoons (1.30pm-5.30pm).
VIDEO EDITORS
Role: This role requires a basic knowledge in video editing on any of the following software: ADOBE PREMIERE (Pro or Elements), FINAL CUT (Pro or Express) or any other video editing packages - but preferably not Windows Movie Maker or iMovie.
Hours of work: Facilities are quite limited and volunteers are expected to have access to other video editing facilities. The amount of editing work allocated will vary according to time availability and experience. Volunteers are required to meet regularly for meetings - either on a set location or on-line.
RESEARCHER / WRITERS
Role: Duties include researching and (script) writing various segments presented on the programs - from news/current affairs to lifestyle segments.
Hours of work: Generally writers are expected to carry out their role in their own time but are expected to work closely with the producer(s) and are therefore required to be able to be contacted via email or phone. Production Meetings are also held once every 4 to 6 weeks and volunteers are expected to attend. Please note: No experience necessary for production assistants but a willingness to learn is essential. The volunteers' roles may vary and will involve other areas in the production process. In so doing, volunteers will be exposed to a wider scope and gain more experience in various aspects of tv.
CORRESPONDENTS
Role: Individuals from non-Victorian states are required to provide a monthly report of any events/activities within their respective communities. This can be done via video or telephone as a news report or via a conversation with the host/anchor of the program. Photos or video footage may also be required from the events. Volunteers must be active or have a strong links in their communities as relationship with leaders, organisations and/or other members of the FIlipino community is essential.
Hours of work: It will be up to each individuals to set their own time commitments but must ensure that content each month is provided.
